John 8:31-59

John 8:31 NLT

Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

Write and mark or highlight the following passage John 8:32-59. Be sure to to list which translation that you used, as to keep it for future reference.

Describe what John 8:31 means according to the rest of the passage scripture which you just wrote, marked and highlighted.

Who did the people claim as their father and why did the people proclaim that they were not slaves to anyone?

In human terms did they forget what their ancestors encountered for 400 years in Egypt and did they forget the condition of their own hearts.

What did Jesus say that they were enslaved in?

What was the truth that would set them free?

Whose children did Jesus say they were, if they would believe in Him, and why?

Go back, and read out loud John 8:47-56.

Who did Jesus say, He saw and who looked forward to His coming into the world?

Why did the people pick up stones to stone Jesus, where was he?

Now write out again John 8:56 and then read Exodus 3 and then write out Exodus 3:14.

Why is the mention of the name I AM important?

Close today’s journey in the Gospel of John by reflecting over the passage and pray to the Lord about anything and everything that you have either questions or concerns about? Then take some time to wait and listen to Him.
