The Christmas Box

There once was a family that lived by humble means. They had no money to buy gifts so they wrapped things up in one box and called it their Christmas Box. This family began writing things down on the box that they desired to have but could not afford it. One day their young son asked, “What is in the Christmas box?” The parents told him that he had to wait until Christmas Eve to open the box. The days were getting shorter and colder. There would soon be a snow storm brewing up in the west that would be headed their way. Day by day the little boy would wonder what was in the box. Now it was Christmas Eve and it was time to open up the Christmas Box. The family gathered round to open the box and what they found inside a Wooden Cross with these on a piece of paper nailed to this cross. The inscription was as follows: “I AM all You need. I will provide for you. My gift to you is the gift of life and it is free to all who receive it! I gave my life so that you could live for eternity with my in Paradise. Would you receive my gift to you this day and become my friends for my blood and flesh was pierced so that You would life?” The entire family was in tears as they finished reading the inscription. The family of three fell on their knees and thanked Jesus for their gift and at that moment there came a knock on the door. The neighbors from across the street invited them to Christmas dinner. The family went and thanked the Lord for all the blessings they had received.

The lesson of the Christmas Box is that salvation  is a free gift to  all those that will receive Him as the Lord of Your life. So consider this day how you celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ this season and will you accept His gift for you today!
