Psalm 46:10-11 NASB
“Stop striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” The Lord of Armies is with us, the God of Jacob is our stronghold.
Striving or to strive as defined by http://www.merriam-webster.com/Dictionary/strive is as follows:
- To devote serious effort or energy: endeavor
- To struggle in opposition : contend
In other translations of the Bible such as the RSV translates Psalm 46:10 in this way:
“Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
In other words stop putting so much effort into fighting against God and REST in knowing that the LORD of Armies is with you and HE is your stronghold and first line of defense against the devil and even your fleshly desires to give in to the devil.
Be still and know that the LORD is GOD and run into HIS presence for everything even life and health are in HIS hands. Devote your energy and your efforts into living for GOD and what He desires rather than fighting against HIM.
Now, is the time to run to HIM in prayer!
Let’s pray for the following in August 2024!
- Pray for the circumstances that you find yourself fighting against God about. Seek His wisdom in what you are going through then LISTEN to HIM and follow what the LORD tells you.
- Pray for the children who are in school (public, private and home-schooled)
- For salvation
- For safety
- For reaching and listening to their needs and guiding them to know Jesus as their LORD and Savior.
- Then pray for anything ,anyone and everything and everyone that the LORD lays on your heart to seek HIM for.
