Walks Upon the Waters; John 6:16-21

John 6:16-21 ESV

When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. But he said to them, “It is I, do not be afraid. Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

Exodus 3: 14 ESV

God said to Moses, ” I AM WHO I AM”

When Jesus said to his disciples, “It is I.” what was their reaction and why?

Where were the disciples intending on going when they ventured out upon the waters, and after Jesus got into the boat where did arrive at?

In Exodus 3:14 , what does the Lord tell Moses to say to the people of Israel about who He is and how does this proclamation connect to Jesus, when he says, “It is I?” Explain your answer and use scriptures from the Bible as evidence to confirm or validate your answer.

Are there any situations in your life where you might feel as the disciples did the boat when they encountered the storm and saw Jesus approaching them upon the waters?

What would your response be if you heard, But He “It is I.” in the middle of any of the situations or storms in your life?

Is the LORD saying anything to you right now , in the middle of a dire situation, something like a whisper, ” BUT I SAID” ”You are mine! You are in the palm of My Hand! I have never left you or forsaken you! I AM walking out to you upon the waters in the middle of this dire situation, to come take a step out with ME.” As the LORD speaks into your situation, write down what HE says to you.

Then Respond to what HE SAID to you!
