The Lamb of God, John 1:29-34


Read again John 1:19-28 and continue on with John 1:29-34 and then write out all the key points of the passage and then explain what these points mean to you personally?

John 1:29 ESV

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said , ‘Behold the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.’

Why does John 1:29 refer to Jesus as being the lamb of God in this verse?

Read Genesis 22:1-19 and answer the following:

How does the potential sacrifice of Issac and him being spared by the ram in thicket is a picture of God the Father sending Jesus as the lamb the God?

List the ways God has called you to be a living sacrifice in order to bring Him praise. I will share a few areas in which you could be a living sacrifice in your life.

Being a Homemaker:

Being in the work place outside the home:

  1. As an Employer
  2. AS an employee
  3. As a customer

In the circumstances that you are currently facing how are you currently reacting to these situations and are you giving God the glory for what you are going through.

What was John the Baptist’s main purpose or calling and in what ways has God shown you what your main purpose or calling is in the circumstances that you are facing?

How did John recognize the one whom would baptize with the Holy Spirit and what was this one being called by John?

Go deeper:

Spend some time before God and ask Him to make you more aware of His presence and begin to seek HIM about the all the areas and circumstances that you are currently going through over the course of this next week.
