Humility In Action, 1st Peter 5:7-13

Read 1st Peter 5:5,6 and then continue through verse 13. In the circumstances that you previously mentioned in your answers to the questions in the last post, in what ways do you feel that the Lord is humbling you in them?

Give two examples from the Bible and describe how each of them were humbled by the LORD and then exalted in His time?

Can you think of anyone in your life that you have encountered who have been humbled by the LORD and then exalted in His time. What about those whom you’ve seen humble themselves before the Almighty List them and if possible send them a note of encouragement on the growth that you see in their life as a result of what they have gone through in the refining process of their character.

1st Peter 5:7 Amplified Topical Reference Bible

Casting the whole of your care (all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all) on Him, for he cares for you watchfully)

Psalm 55:22 Amplified T.R.B.

Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you: He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall or fail).

Do you feel weighed down with a lot of worry, anxieties, and concerns so much that it has become a burden on you especially in the circumstances that you know that LORD is humbling you through?

Know this for certain that the LORD cares for you and desires that you bring it all to Him. If you don’t believe that you are consistently righteous , let me remind you that GOD sees you as consistently righteous through the sacrifice of the pure spotless lamb , who is Jesus. As we go into Easter that is tomorrow, may we all remember not only His death on the Cross but the Resurrection as well. If you have accepted what Jesus has done for you on the cross then you have received true freedom in the gift of life with HIM for eternity.

1st Peter 5:8-11 Amplified Topical Reference Bible

Be well balanced (temperate , sober of mind ) be vigilant and cautious at all times, for the enemy of yours , the devil, roams around like a lion roaring ( in fierce hunger), seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Withstand him; be firm in the faith[against his onset-rooted, established , strong, immovable, and determined] knowing that the same identical sufferings to your whole brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) through out the world. And after you suffer a little while, the God of all grace [ Who imparts all blessing and favor] Who has called you to His (own) eternal glory in Christ Jesus will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen and settle you. To Him be the dominion (power, authority and rule) forever and ever. Amen (so be it)

In what ways do you need to be made more aware that is to recognize the enemy, the devil, when he approaches you through the guise of people and circumstances that you encounter on a daily basis?

Are there areas in your life that you can see that the devil is at work in your life? If so, list them and ask the LORD to help you to remain firm and well established in HIM.

Close today’s session in 1st Peter by taking the time seek the LORD and thank HIM for what He has done in your life through the book of 1st Peter.
