1st Peter 5:5-6 Amplified Topical Reference Bible
Likewise ,you who are younger and of lesser rank, be subject to the elders (the ministers and spiritual guides of the church) -[ giving them due respect and yielding to their counsel] . Clothe (apron) yourselves all of you with humility [ as the garb of a servant, so that its covering cannot be stripped from you, with freedom from pride and arrogance ] toward one another. For God sets Himself up against the proud(the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous , the boastful) and He opposes, frustrates, and defeats [them] but gives grace (favor, blessing to the humble). Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you.
In what ways can you as a believer , give respect and submit or yield to the counsel of the Pastor, Elders, Prophets and and others who are in the leadership of your local church as well as others believers in Christ.
How often as a believer do you pray for the leadership of the church?
In what areas of your life as a believer do you struggle with pride and list the circumstances that you are facing as you struggle with pride?
What is the LORD trying to teach you through your circumstances about the act of humility?
How can you be a servant to others in the circumstances which you are facing even now?
