1st Peter 3:1 NIV Radiant Virtues Bible published by Zondervan in 2021
Wives, in the same way submit to your own husbands so that if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.
Women who are single, divorced, and or are widowed the LORD himself is your husband and absolutely the LORD must be your number 1 relationship in your life. He is the ultimate source of provisioning as the one who can provide true wisdom and direction in how to submit to your own husband especially an unbelieving one.
1st Peter 3:4-6 The Message
What matters is not your outer-appearance-the styling of the hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes -but your inner disposition. Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle , gracious kind that God delights in. The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way and were good, loyal wives to their husbands.
In what ways can you as a woman grow in your inner beauty as you surrender to the Lord in regarding to your husband, if you have one or desire one. Remember, that having a gentle, kind and gracious heart has been given to you as a result of both your salvation in Christ as well as gift of the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23 ESV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such things there is no law.
1st Peter 3:7 ESV
Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as a weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
In the NIV 1st Peter 3:7 this verse is written as:
Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
Men, in what ways can you be considerate and live with your wives , if you have one with understanding?
Are you seeing answers to your prayers or are they being hindered by the way that you treat your wives?
In what ways can you honor/respect your wives if you have one?
In closing today’s session in 1st Peter if married, discuss your answers to the questions with each other and then pray together. Seek the LORD and listen to what HE tells you to do next.
