A chosen People, 1st Peter 2:9-10

Read through 1st Peter 2:1-8 as a precursor to today’s passage then read the passage below.

1st Peter 2:8-9 NIV

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood and a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness and into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people , but now you are the people of God, once you have not received mercy but now you have received mercy.

Psalm 33:12 ESV

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he chose as his heritage!

In what ways as a believer in Christ, are you a part of God’s people?

Now, declare to those who are around how God called you out of darkness and into HIS LIGHT?

How have you received God’s mercy within the past day, week, month, or year?

In closing, read 1st Peter 2:11-25 and then write a brief summary of what this passage means to you personally?

Finally, close this day with a time of prayer and praise over what the LORD has done in your life?
