Read Jeremiah 17:5-6 ESV and consider the following questions.
Jeremiah 17:5-6 ESV
Thus says the LORD:
“Cursed is the man who trusts in man
and makes flesh his strength,
whose heart is turned away from the LORD.
He is like a shrub in the desert,
and shall not see any good come.
He shall dwell in in the parched places of the wilderness,
in an uninhabited salt land.”
In what ways have the people of the LORD put there trust in man and made their own flesh their strength? What about you personally?
Have you ever been in a place in your life where you were in a “parched place of wilderness” and there was nothing to satisfy your thirsty soul while you lived in “an uninhabited salt land”?
Read Jeremiah 17:7-8 ESV and compare your life as one who trusts in the LORD versus in man.
