Trust Not

Trust not in a good name.

Trust not in wealth, riches, and fame.

Trust not in your own hearts.

For these can lead to the grave,

The grave, I say, where there is no one to deliver you.

Imagine, only darkness, a heavy darkness;

Where there is no one else.

Only there you feel all alone.

You feel pain.

You feel terrified;

There is no relief to the bitter anguish in your soul.

I was in the place for many years.

BUT at the right moment,

God stepped in and lifted me up out of the pit.

Where I had felt imprisoned by

Fear, anger, bitterness, shame, flashbacks of memories from past abuse and nightmares.

It was intense and a heavy darkness;

I felt all alone.

But God said, to trust in HIM and HIM alone;

So I did not only with words,

But with understanding of who I truly was a sinner,

and that without childlike trust in who God truly was as a human,

Jesus died for me.

He gave up his rights and took the curse of sin and death upon himself.

He suffered an agonizing death and more than that,

Separation from the Father all the while knowing what I would go through,

But He also knew He would get the glory for all He has done in my life

And the lives affected by Who I am in Christ.

So, trust not in what this world has to offer you,

But trust in GOD alone.
