Read Isaiah 48 in the ESV and then list the things that speak to your heart about the passage and then read in the Message and see if the LORD speaks to your heart in a different way than in the ESV.
[ I like to use different translations of the Bible because sometimes when I read a familiar passage in a different translation the Lord speaks to me in a new way. The translations that I use is as follows: NIV, ESV, NKJV, AMPC, NLT and the Message which is more modern paraphrase of the Bible. There are other versions and study Bibles out there but these are the ones that I have on hand. I also look at the You Version App on my smart phone as a Hebrew/ Greek lexicon App. to get a better understanding of the words that are used. Now, back to the study Questions]
To whom is the Lord addressing in this passage and how can it apply to us as believers in the Lord today? Use scripture references to back up your reasons.
Read Isaiah 48:1-11 in the Message and list the things that speak or convict you about this passage?
Do you live one way during the week and then come Sunday and put on Christ- like show in front of friends and family or do you live what you believe is true about the One you come to worship on Sunday?
Have the circumstances in this earth got you distracted and your heart hardened to the LORD by them? If so, then how does this passage speak to your heart?
How has the LORD used the circumstances in your life to test and refine your Character and belief in HIM?
How have you seen the Lord use the circumstances of others that you personally know to deepen their hope in the LORD?
