Read Isaiah 11:1-9 ESV and Amplified Translations
List the characteristics or attributes of the Lord that will be given to the descendant who will come from the family of Jesse, David’s father.
Now read, Matthew 3:16-17 in either the ESV or Amplified and described what has transpired in this passage and how does it fulfill Isaiah 11:1-3?
Go back and read Isaiah 11:3-5 then describe how the Messiah will judge and settled disputes.
Reflections
In your own life how has the Lord stirred within your spirit the desire to settle and judge disputes not based on what your eyes see or what ears hear, but rather through HIS sovereign Spirit?
How is the Lord using the conflicts in your life to show who you rely on and give the credit to when there is a solution reached?
Who do you turn to when you are upset and angry?
Do you vent your angst to more than one person, like I’ve been guilty of on more than one occasion, or do you run straight into the arms of the LORD Almighty God?
What about social media sites instead of to the LORD and then you regret venting your angst all over social media?
Where does your trust reside in these days in the midst of conflict?
Take some time to consider these things and take them to the LORD right now!
