Isaiah, 2:3-5 The Mountain II

Read and fill in the blanks of the following passage in the Amplified Translation of the Bible.

And many people shall come and say, ‘Come let us go to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of Jacob, that He may teach us HIS ways and that we may walk in HIS paths. For out of Zion shall go and forth the law and instruction, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

In yesterday’s post I had you list the references from Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Acts for the fulfillment of verse 3, now I want to explain why.

In verse 3, He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths:

The LORD is speaking to Isaiah of the time yet to come which will be fulfilled when Jesus begins His ministry here on earth after calling the disciples to follow Him. The house of Jacob and Zion are references to the nation of Israel .

Now think of the great commission in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nation and baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all that I commanded you”

Where were the disciples meeting when they received the Holy Spirit?

The word of the LORD= the gospel= the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Can you explain how the word of the LORD came out Jerusalem?

Re-read Isaiah 2:4-5 now and answer the following:

When will verse 4 be fulfilled list other biblical references that will confirm this?

Isaiah 2:5 O house of Jacob, come let us walk in the light of the LORD.

I believe that verse 5, is an invitation to following the ways of the LORD in not only Isaiah’s time but also the present. Who or what is the light of the LORD that Isaiah wanted his people to follow?

Reminder we just read about the Messiah in verses 3 and verse so through the book of Isaiah today, Isaiah petitions Israel to obey the light of the LORD: Who is Christ the LORD!

SEEK, THINK AND REFLECT BEFORE THE LORD!
