Isaiah, Dancing with Darkness

Read Isaiah 1:21- 31 ESV

Dancing with darkness leads one on a dangerous and slippery slope into destruction. Jerusalem was once a faithful city but now nothing more than a unfaithful on in the eyes of the LORD. This is the result of having one foot in the world and the other in the Kingdom while one compromises their beliefs in the LORD with that of the world.

The state of the unfaithful

  1. Once full of justice.
  2. Righteousness resided in them.
  3. Now, murders reside there.
  4. They mixed their right -standing with GOD with the beliefs of the world causing their leaders to be friends with robbers.
  5. They love bribes and run after the gifts or pleasures of the world.
  6. They don’t bring justice for the fatherless and the widow’s cause does not come to them.

How have you danced with the darkness to the point of unfaithfulness with God? Ask the LORD to show you what has long laid hidden or so you thought was hidden from the subtle things to the overt sins. God weighs them all the same and are deserving of separation from GOD and death.

Write out what the LORD shows here below:

The LORD’s response to the unfaithful.

Do you ever wonder why bad things happen in this world to believers of the LORD? Why we must be tested and tried in the storms of life?

Here is the answer in Isaiah 1:25 ESV

“I will turn my hand against you and will smelt away your dross as with lye and remove all you alloy.”

In other words, He will cause you to suffer in your sin and drive you to your knees in repentance which is a turning away from sin and returning to the LORD. The dross represents the sin and the alloy or the state of sin in one’s life will be removed to make one holy to the LORD.

Then The will bring restoration of the unfaithful because you have been redeemed by the LORD.

Note the references to all the scriptures dealing with unfaithfulness and repentance.

Reflect on your salvation story of how you were redeemed in your worst circumstances . Thanking HIM for it as well.
