Read Philippians 4:10-23 [ I am using the ESV ]

Why does Paul greatly rejoice in the Lord in this passage?

How often are you concerned about our censored and persecuted family in Christ Jesus?

Define the following from an English Dictionary and then if you are curious look it up also in a Hebrew/Greek Lexicon such as Strong’s or there many software apps that you could download and use on your smart phone. If you have a dictionary book at home that is older use it than searching for definitions on internet and then write the definition in your own words.

  1. to be content:

Define now in your own words and how it relates to this passage of scripture.

In Philippians 4:11, Paul says, “I learned in whatever the situation to be content.” Do you think that this was an easy or a hard process to go through? Why? Back up your answer with scripture.

What are the areas in which Paul learned to be content according to this passage of scripture?

What was the secret that Paul learned and how can you apply it to your own life?

Now, I will give you what it means to be content from my Hebrew/Greek lexicon and the Strong’s number for it also.

Broken down it means Self – complacent

Does the Lord want us to be content through HIM or apart from HIM in light of Philippians 4:13? Why? What are other passages of scriptures that are vital to the understanding of the secret of being content?

How has God supplied your every need this week according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus? List them!
