Prayer: A Formidable Force

Prayer is not a last resort for option for a Christian (Christ follower). Prayer is the only option that is not only prudent but vital to the Christ follower living life here in the earth. Prayer is the best and viable way to live in the earth. For through prayer war against evil can be waged and won every time the LORD Jesus Christ goes before the Christ follower in the battle leading the charge. Jesus is also the rear guard, HE walks along side us, and HE carries us when we are wounded. It is HIS power alone that wins the battle. The victory has already been won through JESUS CHRIST.

I wrote the above paragraph as a Facebook status on my personal page on March 7, 2016 and the LORD has just reminded me again of it. Since this is the first time this has appeared on this blog, the LORD has been speaking to me about the importance of prayer in now only my life but also in the life of His beloved Bride, known as the body of believers through the world, who live to glorify for HIM. There are many who believe and live under heavy persecution in many countries around the world. For these Christ followers, they understand that prayer is a formidable force and that it is vital to not only themselves but others as well.

During the times that I have taught kids about prayer, I have often described it as the following:

Prayer is talking to the LORD and then HE will talk back to you just as a person across the table would talk back to you. When asked, How can you talk to someone that you can’t see. I remind them that His presence lives inside each one of us and just as you can see the wind in the trees and feel a breeze blow by you so it is with the LORD.

I did the James Study by Beth Moore earlier this year with a group of women known as the WOTT group which stands for the Women Of TITUS TWO at my local church. One of the most powerful things I heard Beth Moore say in one of the session 1 video is this: Jesus appeared to those who needed to see Him the most. I was reeled back to my childhood for a few minutes when I heard that because I saw a Vision of Jesus with HIS arms outstretched when I was 11 years-old.

THE BACK STORY of my Encounter with GOD

When I got saved at age 9, I believed that circumstances in which lived at that would change and that I would no longer be harmed. It was not long after that within a few months that I began to believe in Jesus as God my circumstances did change but not for good. As, I mentioned in My Testimony on my About page. My (birth) mother remarried and I was again in abusive home. I was upset with Jesus and did not know even if I could believe that He was good or even if He was real at this point in my life. I did not see the evidence that Jesus was good and that he was real until the age of 11 and then I had my first hospital trip which followed by being abandoned at age 12 at a Counselor’s office.Right before the 1st hospital trip is when I had my radical encounter with the LORD JESUS CHRIST in November of 1991, I saw a vision of JESUS with HIS arms outstretched and inviting ME into HIS arms and I heard the angelic worship that sounded like many stringed instruments at the time.

Remembering the above vision brought tears to my eyes on the day that I saw the Beth Moore Session ONE video called, ” A Man Called James” along with the realization that THE LORD of Heaven and of EARTH knew that I needed to see HIM the most at the time in my life. I have never ever been the same since that day.

The next time I teach kids or anyone about prayer I will use the above things about my own life and the life of Apostle Thomas who also needed to see HIM the most when Jesus appeared to the disciples along with Thomas. For those of you who need to read this again turn in your Bible or look on your Smartphone Bible App for those that have the following passage.

John 20:24-29 in the version of the BIBLE you read the most often and then reflect on verse 29. There are some in the earth today that are Christ followers in hard to reach areas that JESUS HIMSELF is revealing HIMSELF to as Jesus did in my case just as the man called Saul who would later became known as the Apostle Paul in the Acts 9.

Take Heed Communication with the LORD is not only powerful but beneficial to the individual and in the body. Stay plugged into a local gatherings of Christ followers when possible but if not know that through prayer you are united with not only Christ but also HIS People for were are united in HIS SPIRIT. Stayed tuned more to follow on prayer.
