Sovereign King,
Who reigns from eternity past to beyond.
Praise, honor, and dominion
Belong to Him.
When He speaks,
All will come to be.
Sovereign King,
Who is enthroned above the earth.
Mercy, compassion and grace
Were on display that great day,
As you hung on the cross.
Your body was broken,
Your blood was poured out.
For our treason against your sovereignty,
You proclaimed, “It’s finished.”
You gave up your spirit.
On that great day you were buried.
Who could ever grasp the depths
Of your great love for us.
On the third day,
You rose from the dead.
What a great Sovereign King
You truly are,
For all those that pierced you,
Saw you and said, “Truly, He is God.”
This great day was foretold many times
Through the prophets of old,
Was recorded from generation to generation;
Given to all those who come to read and have a great revelation.
From you, Oh sovereign King,
So, we can too say of You,
Truly He is God!
