Do you desire the best in life? Did you receive top-notch treatment while striving for the best in life? What if I told you, “There was someone who could teach and train you about all that there was best in this life.”, would you listen?
Come sit in the quietness of the day. Pull up a chair, go out on the deck or even go out into the midst of a garden sanctuary. Whatever the case maybe come prepared with this in mind. You will not get the best in life, if you have it all planned out to achieve it. Neither will you receive the best treatment in life while obtaining your well thought out plans and agendas. Throw all that out of your mind and focus on the only one who can answer all your hard sought after questions.
Who did King Solomon look to gain insight from in order to answer his questions?( 2nd Chronicles 1:7-13; 1st Kings 4:29) What about the Samaritan woman at the well in the town of Sychar who wanted to draw out water from a well.( John 4:1-30) Where can one find such priceless wisdom than is far more valuable than the Hope Diamond or even a flight to the moon could cost the average person these days?
Are you ready to go somewhere not even sound a needle hitting the floor could be heard?
Listen. Listen. Just listen. Do you hear a quiet roaring sound like that of an ocean waves crashing on the beach. Listen do you know the voice that you hear in the stillness of the day.
Adam and Eve knew his voice and even heard Him walking in the garden. Imagine what that must have been like to hear the sound of the Lord walking in the garden before Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (Genesis 3:8-10)
John the baptist witnessed and heard the voice Him who sits on the throne, as He proclaimed to the world that Jesus was His beloved Son. ( Matthew 3:13-17)
The voice that you can hear is none other than that of the Lord most high. He is the one you need to ask your hard sought after questions to when you find that what you thought was the best in life for you is nothing but a pail of sand. Sand washes away like the riches, knowledge and all your plans and agendas that you are so desperately trying to stay in control.
Read and listen to these words as you say them out loud.
Philippians 4: 6,7 ESV
Do not be anxious about anything , but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus.
What does that mean to you at this very moment as you spoke the words? I suggest that whatever is coming to your mind at this moment that You give it God and leave it for Him to handle. Whether you have pent up anger over things that you thought were in control over but find out out that you are not in control not by a long shot.
Start your life afresh right now by praying this with me. Lord Jesus, I know that You are the source that I need to come to know what my next step in life is at this moment. So, here I am to do you just that. I realize that my life is not my own but it belongs to you. Please use me as you see fit. Show me where there are unresolved sins or any bondage in my life. I commit to follow you now. For I know that your words are life and the guiding light of this life, teach me dear Lord, in the stillness of the day to listen to YOU!
