Proverbs 3:5-6

In all things, I have to come to trust the Lord. As it is written, ” Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge HIM and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6″

When I say in all things, I mean all things.

In heart breaking situation I have faced or will face I have two options to choose from.

Choice # 1

Run and cower in fear. As I am, allowing the situation to run the gamut of emotions in my heart while my mind listens to lies of the enemy while rehearsing the situations the way I see  or the enemy wants me to see it in my mind.

Choice #2

Trust the LORD. Easy to say but hard to put into practice at times, I must admit. I have written before that the LORD did not come to make me safe but to make me brave. I have learned with each and every day that The LORD is in control of my life and He is the one I need to turn to not a stuffed animal or a pillow for comfort and healing.

If anyone who reads this and is facing a situation whether it be managing the care of a loved one, in an abusive/domestic relationship, about to go through a divorce or in the midst of one and in need of comfort. Go first and foremost to the Lord Jesus Christ and seek HIS comfort and direction in sharing what needs to be shared whether it is just one person or if more than that one needs to be involved. Pour out your heart of pain out to Him like a bucket of mop water for by doing so you’ll be released from the emotions of it at least for a time until the LORD wants you to focus on dealing with the issue that is causing you the pain.

Personal Reflection

I recently got a divorce after being married for 14 years and then separated for an additional two years. I will not write about what happened only the LORD and those that know me personally know will know the reason for it all. What I will write is to not only encourage you but myself. Allow the tears to flow, Read Total Forgiveness by RT Kendall, share with one and only one person what you are going through especially if it is in regards to a relationship and sin. Remember as I have others remind me to take everything to the LORD. Trust in the Lord with all things though you may find yourself in tears a lot as you remember pain ; ask the LORD to show where He is and was during it and allow HIM TO LOVE YOU as you choose to forgive and receive the Forgiveness of the LORD for your sins.

Another thing I will say is this:

I have been a christian for 30 years and while I am only 39 years old, I have never seen or been abandoned by the LORD. MY walk with the LORD has grown with each and every adversity I’ve faced. The things I have been through, the LORD did not want to happen and yet HE allowed them as He stayed by my side, in front and behind me. As I have cried so did HE and he catches every tear so, considered yourself blessed with these adversities for by going through them with JESUS by your side you demonstrate to world that the GOD is true to HIS word.
