Greetings to all my readers on this Christmas morning! I don’t know how this Christmas season is for you but for a lot people, it brings up emotions, as it does for me. Sometimes, I have a hard time at Christmas and this year I have been in tears at times, but then I take the time to reflect on the real reason Christmas. I want to take a minute and do that…
Jesus!! Jesus!! Jesus!! The real reason for Christmas! Today is the day that all Christ-followers reflect and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. His purpose in life was to live a sinless life and die a criminals death bearing the curse of sin and death upon the cross.
So as I remember the reason for Christmas, I am reminded that with the LORD ever present with us in this world through the Holy Spirit, is here with me now. I can lean upon HIM and release all the tears that are welling up at this moment and thank HIM for the joy and love He has for me.
Zephaniah 3:17 Amplified
The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior, [ Who saves!] He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [ in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them] He will exult over you with singing.
The Lord rejoices over me with Singing. Imagine as a child your daddy singing a lullaby to you in the stillness of the night as you go to sleep. There is a song that is dear to my heart and brings tears to my eyes as I listen to it. The song is called “Father Song” by Matt Redman as I listen to it I can just see myself as a baby and my Daddy , The Lord singing over me.
So, rejoice this day for the Lord loves so much that He sent His one and only son to be born of a virgin and to live a sinless life and reconcile us to God through His death on the cross.
