In what does my soul delight
In whom shall I fear
I must confess that my soul
Delights in the world at times
Even though I am warned not do so
By The LORD Almighty God
I must allow THE LORD to open my eyes
To see those things as idols
An put my hope in THE LORD
Maker of Heaven and Earth
By my faith I say, He is enough for me
But when hardship, suffering, and despair
Shall I wimp out on The LORD
And put my trust in the latest gimmick
To alleviate the stresses in life
No, I must surrender to THE LORD
My whole heart and life
I must give HIM the glory due HIS NAME
And not bow down to another “god”
I must admit the pull and pressure to give in
Is overwhelming to me at times
But I know that I am more than a conqueror in JESUS
And nothing in the heavens above
In the earth or in the sea
Can be compared to the LIVING GOD
The Great Physician!
So, repent, my soul
For the things you have allowed
To take the Place of GOD in my life
Whether it be man, man-made, or the things you have created
I say, Dear Father, forgive me
For allowing and pursuing these things.
Teach me to overcome and be victorious in all these things
In Jesus name, Amen!
