Right now, as I come into the presence of the Lord God Almighty, I am overcome with a sense of awe-inspiring grace and love. I know that The Lord is always with me and yet at times I find that His presence is stronger than other times. I had an experience this past week while I read my last blog entry, “Reservation for One”, to a group of women. I began shaking as I was reading it and I felt flushed. It was all I could do to get the words out mouth. I thought it was nervousness at the time but as I reflect on it today I realized that the power of God was resting on me as I read. The last time I had felt like that was when I gave my testimony at a women’s retreat.
It is an awesome thing to ponder that the God of the universe loved me enough to send His Son Jesus as a atoning sacrifice but also sobering at the same time. Sobering in the sense that God was willing to become human, and live the sinless life that we could never live on our own. He did not need to create all that we hear, see and touch with our five senses. He did not even need to create the host of heaven. Yet He did. Place your name in the following scripture as I do and meditate on it. Maybe even write about your thoughts and observations as The Lord speaks to you.
John 3:16 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Application
For God loved Helen Marie Quick, that he gave his only Son, that she believes in Him she should not perish but she has everlasting life.
Yes, the invitation of salvation and redemption of Jesus is for everyone who believes, but often times we exempt ourselves from it for whatever reason. He could not have died for me could He?
I will leave you with that thought to ponder. God bless you all!
