Here I am contemplating an entry for this blog when the above title pops into my head. Lord, I ask right now that you give me the words to write and convey the emotions that I have right now. In Jesus mighty Name Amen!
I just heard a phrase of a Chris Tomlin song a moment ago, “His love rescued me.” God’s love rescued me and it is true. His love rescued you, dear one. I am not alone in this when I say that I am thankful for the love and mercy THE LORD of HOSTS had for me over 2,000 years when Jesus was crucified on the cross for my sin.
Now here I am sitting in an office chair typing and not sure what will I write but I know that The Lord is control of this and He will give me the words as I write.
Close your eyes and imagine this scene for a moment. You are frazzled and stressed to max when you go to the mailbox and pick up the day’s mail. You walk into the house and as you are sorting the mail when one of the items catches your eye. You pick up the letter and on the outside of the envelope it says, “Reservation for One”. Normally you would discard such items but this time there is a curiosity that stirs inside you. You hear a voice say, “Just open it already!” When you do, you are surprised to find an invitation for only you to spend sometime at an all expense paid stay overnight at a luxury hotel. Inside the letter you find the address and a key for the room. Okay, at this point a dose of reality sets in and you begin to ball it up and say no way this can’t be true can it? The next thing you know a parcel arrives at your door with the same writing as the letter. So, you open up the package to find a little tattered book. The place where the title would be found was an invitation for one and this had your name written on it. You have heard the expression that curiosity killed the cat well this was not the case. You open the book to find that this book was a beloved book, called the Bible.
You turn immediately to John 3:16 and begin to read. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Tears begin to stream down your face as you realize that God wanted to rescue you with His love.
He wants you to come to HIM even now after you accepted HIM as Lord and Savior. Let HIM heal your soul from the stresses of this life. Let His peace permeate your life right now don’t delay!
