How many times do we hear The Lord speak to us and think that it is a person next to us, the television, the radio or even our own mind? If you do not think that you hear from HIM from time to time then you might want to open up your Bible and read it! HE will often just give me a verse or passage by simply saying , Open your Bible and Read the following passages from the Bible.
This Evening the passage was 1st Samuel Chapter 3 which concerns the Calling of Samuel the Prophet. Samuel in this setting had not known The Lord personally but heard all about HIM. He was young boy and was given to the service of the Lord by his mother Hannah. One night The Lord called to Samuel but he ran to Eli the Priest and said, here I am. This happened a second time and the boy ran to Eli but this time Eli told him if he calls you again then say, “Speak Lord for your servant hears.” Samuel did so the next time The Lord spoke and then The Lord revealed to him what He wanted Samuel to know.
You don’t have to be a prophet for the Lord to speak to you and for you to hear from Him. From my experience you need to be teachable meaning you are willing to believe that you don’t have the answers for all that life throws at you and that The LORD does.
I have had times where I think that I don’t Hear The LORD speak and then the next thing that happens is that another person will call me when I am at home or another will speak at a meeting about the very thing He said to me.
If you are Christian:
1. You can hear from God.
2. God will speak to through His Holy living Word the BIBLE.
3. Just because you heard it from a prophet, teacher, or any other speaker , or any writer does not mean that it is from God.
4. Go read THE WORD yourself and ask HIM and HE WILL CONFIRM what you hear or learn from others.
5. You don’t have to spend an entire day in the word or His presence in order to hear from the LORD unless He directs you to do so.
