What a marvelous sight it must have been to see Jesus taken into heaven. I am sure the disciples marveled at this but at the same wondered when HE would return at least that is what I would wonder. Each generation that followed the disciples even up to today must have felt that He would return in their lifetime. It is clear from Acts 1:7 that God the Father has selected the time by His own authority not only to restore the kingdom of Israel but also Jesus Return also. No one knows except for HIM.
Thoughts and Questions
1. I wonder what they thought was the Lord’s plan to restore the Kingdom of Israel was. I think they thought of the earthly kingdom of Israel in their minds when they said this.
2. What would have been my reaction to seeing Jesus lifted away into Heaven. What will be my reaction if I got to see HIM return in my lifetime?
3. Would I have felt a sense of sadness because He was physically gone?
God has all supreme authority in Heaven and Earth and who am I to question Him about anything in my life. Yet HE is faithful, merciful, kind and loving longing to communicate with me on a daily basis.
I wonder what it will be like to see HIM face-to-face. Sometimes I just want to sit in HIS lap and gaze into His face like a child gazing into the eyes of his or her mom and dad. Knowing that whatever happens in this life comes through His hands first before it ever takes place here on earth.
