In my reading this evening my heart is stirred by the following verses:

Psalm 7:8-11

8 The Lord judges the Peoples;

judge me , O LORD, according to my righteousness

and according to the integrity that is in me.

9 Oh, let the evil and the wicked come to an end,

and may you establish the righteous —

you who tests the minds and hearts,

10 Oh, righteous God,

My shield is with God

who saves the upright in heart.

11 God is a righteous judge,

and a God who feels indignation every day.

There is no righteousness in man except through Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection we  are made righteous through faith in Him. For in the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans in Chapter 3 verses 10-11 None is righteous, no not one; no one understands, no one seeks for God. Later in the same chapter we read that the Righteousness of God is through Faith and that it was by God’s grace that He paid the ransom for our sin.

In Psalm 7:10 I was struck by the words my “shield is with God”

Shield as defined by http://www.merriam-webster.com

1. A broad piece of defensive  armor carried on the arm

2. One that protects or defends

4. A device or part that serves as a protective barrier

So, after reading these definitions for the word shield reaffirms to me that:

1. God is my defensive armor  Ephesians 6:10-19 in verse 16 take up the shield of Faith which can extinguish all the fiery darts of the evil one.

2. God is my Protector and Defender

3. God is my Shelter or hiding place from all that this world would bring into my life.

The other verse that struck me was Psalm 7:11 “God who feels indignation every day”

Indignation as defined by http://www.merriam-webster.com

1. Anger that is aroused by something unjust, unworthy or mean

So, God feels anger everyday because of the sin of mankind. In Genesis Chapter 6 we read that the Lord was grieved that He created mankind because the hearts and thoughts of mankind were pure evil. But there was one righteous man and his family that He saved after He sent the world-wide flood. Then He, God put a rainbow in the sky to remind the people who He would never again destroy the human race again with a flood. So instead of wiping out mankind totally for the evil they have done God chose send Jesus Christ into this world as a baby. Jesus lived with one purpose in mind to obey the will of the One who sent HIM even death on the cross.

Here in the United States today marks 40 years of Roe V Wade Remember that God is still angered by the genocide of the unborn children as He is with all sin: Remember that Jesus paid the price for our sin and will gladly forgive all those who have had abortions and come to Him like a little child and receive His love and grace today!

May God bless all my readers today!

In Jesus Name Amen!
