The beauty of forgiveness
Imagine for a moment
Christ’s body
battered and bleeding
Hanging on the cross
Then look in a mirror
And see yourself
With fire all around as
Christ’s says, “It is finished”
And breathed His last
Look again in the mirror
And notice this time
Christ offering you freedom
Forgiveness procured by His death
And life through His resurrection
You are made new
But there is still plenty of work for Christ to do
In your life as well as to undo
Through His power as each day unfolds
You will see more of Him and less of you
As you follow His commands.
