August 14, 2012 Thoughts

Psalm 3:5 NIV

I lie down and sleep;

I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.

Psalm 4:8 NIV

I will lie down and sleep in peace,

for you alone, Oh, Lord,

Make me dwell in safety.

These two verses are comforted me many times before I sleep at night. I use to have terrible nightmares but no more. God is faithful to His Word. Each day is a blessing from God and should not be taken for-granted. The Lord sustains us and makes us dwell in safety. Does that mean that we do not have distressing times in our lives? No, I do not think so. I believe the reason we go through difficult times is for the testing of our faith in Jesus Christ. More and more Christians are being bombarded with attacks against our faith as well as the Bible; The Word we live by. There is only one enemy and His name is Satan; the accuser of the brethren. Christians everywhere need to read the Word of God and know it for yourselves, so that when the time of testing comes we will be prepared to give an answer for the faith that we have. We need to be about His business and that is The Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20. God will indeed make us dwell in safety when we we’re with Him in Heaven. Pray fervently for the nations of this world to come to the saving knowledge of Christ.
