Today I reminded of a Darrel Evans song, ” I Am Trading My Sorrows.” Today as I write this I hear the song in my head with a new sense of “trading my sickness and my pain for the joy of the Lord.” Could it be that one can have joy in midst of pain and sickness? I say that one indeed can have joy as long as they are focused on the Lord and ask Him for His guidence and joy in the midst of troubling circumstances. God is ever wanting us to draw on Him and rely only on Him. He allows situations in our lives so that we have a chance to grow closer to Him and that the proving of our faith maybe genuine as we go through all sorts of trails and tests in our lives. Do not hold back anything from the Creator of the Universe. Where there are areas of hardness of heart and disbelief I ask that you bring it out to the open as I endeaver to draw closer to You, Lord.
