A Look at Psalm 91:1-2

Psalm 91 Amplified

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand.]

2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust.

There is a lot that speaks to me right now in these first two verses of Psalm 91.

A. Dwelling in the secret place of the Most High = To me this means having constant fellowship whether reading His word, in worship or prayer.

B. Remaining stable and fixed under the Shadow of the Almighty = To me this says that I am never out of His sight or His hand. Every circumstance that I encounter is designed by HIM to develop not only my character but also my dependence on HIM.

C. The Lord my Refuge = To me this means He is the place of comfort and of help in my life

D. The Lord my Fortress = To me this means that I have a strong and powerful God to come to my aid when I am in distress and when the enemy of our souls, Satan, comes in for an attack.

E. On Him I lean and rely on = To me I am learning that each new day begins and ends I must rely on God to see me through the day.

F. Confidently Trust the Lord = To me this means I can trust God no matter what because God is Faithful to the promises in the Bible and so I can trust Him with my life.
