Do you allow Jesus in your everyday life? I have to say that I am being more convicted about having Jesus in my everyday life meaning I am not just reading, writing, talking to other Christians about Jesus but I need to also come out of my comfort zones. What this means to me is that the people who I encounter on the way to the mailbox, in restaurants, grocery stores, family and friends that I become more aware and obedient to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to speak to who Jesus but to also demonstrate who He is by my actions. In my last post I wrote about electricity being out in my home and lack of God’s power in one’s life. Today, at Church I hear a sermon about “Going into all the World” and the power of God that accompanies one as they go out into all the world. The evidence of God saving people and the disciples being rebuked for their unbelief and hardness of heart. My pastor posed a couple of questions.
1. What if Jesus showed up where you work, go to school, at church service, or at a restaurant?
2. What would Jesus say to you? Would Jesus rebuke you like He did the disciples after He was raised from the dead?
These questions got me to think more about my relationship with Jesus and How I would respond if He had showed up and rebuked me. Yes, there are areas in my life where I feel that He would rebuke me on if He stood in the flesh before me. All I have to say now is Lord, please forgive me and help me to love other people the way You love them. Break my heart of its hardness towards those who I think deserve Your eternal punishment and give me compassion to pray for them and put the right laborer in their path the one You have chosen to reveal Christ to them. It is not my responsibility to judge their heart but it is my responsibility to pray and seek Your face on behalf of them and my nation.
