Joshua 1:9 NASB

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and very courageous! Do not be troubled or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

As I sit here thinking about this verse that the Lord brought to my mind today. I have to admit that I have been troubled with different things but I know that God is in control of all things. It is a comforting thought to know that God is in control of all things especially when you notice the state of the world these days. All throughout history there have famines, floods, and wars but through them all the Lord is in the midst of it. I feel like Peter sometimes when all the disciples were in the boat in the middle of the lake. Peter and the other disciples at first that the Jesus was a ghost for He was walking on the water toward them. It is when Peter steps out of the boat and walks on water towards Jesus( at this moment when I feel like Peter especially when he notices the wind and waves as he began to sink.) The wind and waves represent in my life are the finances and my health. Jesus then grabbed and pulled Peter up out of the water. You see that Jesus never left Peter for one second. He was right there to pull out Peter lost his focus of Christ. Jesus is also present with me as His Holy Spirit resides in me. Everyday without fail I have to refocus my attention on Christ so that I do not become troubled by the circumstances that are going on around me. In Psalm 16:8 NASB “I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right, I will not be shaken.” It is an intentianal purpose to put the Lord continually before you. You come to pray and read His Word intentionally. Even when I fail to do so His Holy Spirit reminds to do so through a fellow believer or by speaking to me directly. I will leave this entry with this last verse. Proverbs 3:5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.
