The Oasis of Grace

Jesus has been nailed to the cross

Hung between two thieves

He was mocked, cursed, and spit upon

Here is the King of the Jews

Written above His head

He wore a crown of thrones

Upon His head and He became

Thirsty and the soldiers gave Him sour wine

Lifted to His lips and He drank in the bitterness

He was pierced in His hands, feet and side

What treachery did He commit

That they treated Him this way

Yet in the Garden He said, “Not my will but yours be done Father.”

When He breathed His last

He cried, “It is Finished into Your hands I commit my Spirit.”

What was finished?

His Life? His ministry?

His earthly life had ended but then He rose to life three days later.

His ministry carries on through His Bride, the church

The punishment for sin is death

But He had never sinned and Yet He bore our sin

Past, present and future upon the cross

So that when God the Father sees us

He sees His Son’s perfect cleansing blood

And through it we are made free from sin

Due to the death of Jesus on the Cross

This is the oasis of Grace of God Almighty
