The holidays are a good time to reflect on what matters most in life. It is a good place to take stock of your own life and your relationship with the God of the universe. What are your goals for the upcoming year? Mine is as follows to learn and lean on the God of my salvation with all my heart, soul and strength. I need to remain focused on the Lord throughout each and everyday and bring all my thoughts, speech, and relationships in line with His Word. When my mind and heart are focused on the Lord then I almost if not always have a good and positive attitude. I am learning through a study by Joyce Meyer to do just that. I have read the scriptures before but some how I am looking at them with a fresh and new eyesight. Having new glasses helps too.
Thanksgiving brings to my mind all the things that I am grateful for in my life. I think that we should be thankful year round regardless of the circumstances that one might find himself or herself in. As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ I believe that Lord deserves all my praise and adoration because He is the Creator of the Universe and I am not. He is Omniscient and exists outside of time and space and there HE sees my past, present and future all at once. When I am faced with any circumstance I need to rely on the Lord for He knows where I have been and where I am going.
Christmas is a celebration of Jesus birth. He came for one purpose only and that is to endure the cross bearing all our sin.
So, set this coming year as a new year to get to know the Creator of the universe and you will not be disappointed.
