In a day and age where ” many roads lead to god.” we as believers in Christ are called to live as a foreingner in this land. We are told to have our yes be yes and our no to be no. There is no room for compromise as a believer. Either we believe God is God or we don’t. In Jude 1:3 we are told to contend for the faith. The word contend means to “strive against difficulties, to compete,  or to strive in a controversy or debate.” American Herritage dictionary. The walk of a believer is definately a struggle that is for sure. There are so many temptations out in the world today. As a woman I feel the temptaions to shop for the latest clothes or how about this one getting lured into soap operas and opperating in life as though it was a fantasy. That is not I am called to do as a believer. In 1 Peter 5: 8-10 we read as follows

5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].

We must always be on guard against the enemy of our souls. We are called to be well balanced in our minds and to vigilant ( always watching and cautious) of what the enemy is doing in our midst. This means we are to be on guard against false doctrine and false brethern in the body of Christ and always be ready to give an answer when we come against others who question our faith. Jesus Christ is the only true absolute in this world so continue to fight the good fight of faith.

2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

I will close here with Philippians 1:9-10

1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and [in] all judgment; 1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
