Casting our Burdens

I have recently been anxious about my physical health and the state of this country. I have just opened my Bible to 1 Peter 5:7 AMP

Casting the whole of your care [ all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all ] on Him for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

Psalm 55:22 AMP
Cast your burden on the Lord [ releasing the weight of it ] and He will sustain you. He will never allow the [consistently ] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail)

A burden
–noun

 1.

that which is carried; load: a horse’s burden of rider and pack.

 2.

that which is borne with difficulty; obligation; onus: the burden of leadership.
This brings me to the topic of sin.
Jesus bore the burden of sin upon his shoulders at the cross. We are commanded not to worry in Matthew 6:24-34. So not only are we to cast all cares upon Him and to release our burdens to HIm. Sin is a burden that we were born with from the fall of Adam.
In Isaiah 53:4 AMP

Surely He has borne our griefs ( sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses ) and carried our sorrows  and pains [of punishment ] yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smittened and afflicted by God { as if with leprosy}. see also Matthew 8:17.

He did not just carry our sin upon himself but also our worries. So why do we want to hold onto them? Do we think that we are better than God to handle it? So why be worried? God does not sleep. He is always looking out for us.

Psalm 16:8-9 AMP

I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand I will not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [ inner self ] rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety.

So DO NOT WORRY. Myself included. God is in control remember.
