I AM the True Vine, and My Father is the Vine-dresser, any branch in Me that does not bear fruit[that stops bearing] He cuts away[trims off, takes away]; and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit. You are cleansed and pruned already, because the word which I have given you[the teaching that I have discussed with you]. Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in You.[Live in Me and I will live in You] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in[being vitally united to] the vine neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. Just like water and food are vital to our existence here so is abiding in Jesus Christ. The trails in life that we all face help to prune us and make us bear more fruit. If we are rooted and grounded in Christ and not on hollow and deceptive teachings that infiltrate the church, calling itself the way to God, then we can rest assured the God’s glory will be established in our lives.
How do we abide in Christ?
1. Being in the Word of God daily; thoroughly examining it ourselves so that we know what the Truth is.
2. Being in Prayer and yes we can hear God for ourselves. We do not need to have a pastor tells us what God is saying although that is great but if we just take their word for it how will grow in Christ.
3. Being not only a hearer of the word but also a doer of the Word of God. It is not just the Pastor’s job to tell others about Christ it is our job as well.
